Microsoft is rolling out an update that supports the end of meeting notifications for meetings. The feature should hit general availability by end of this month.
The feature was added to the road map in September 2020. Once available, Teams will alert meeting participants when 5 minutes are remaining in a meeting. These notifications will stay for 10 seconds before disappearing and applies to scheduled or channel meetings.
The onscreen banner is an information message and it will not automatically terminate the meetings for users. The meeting organizers should attend the meeting after completing the closing arguments. The notification is designed to advise participants to wrap up the discussion.
In addition to the end of meetings, Microsoft confirmed Breakout rooms are generally available. The experience brings the ability for meeting organizers to divide meetings into smaller groups. The company launched other experiences and read about them in a separate post.
